“I hope someone is going to help you carry all this in,” the checkout lady said. I assured her my husband would help (and he did). I didn’t do too badly for a non-doubles-or-triples-week: Thumbs up are what the checkout guy at Harris Teeter gave me on my way out today. He always remembers me during coupon week and is nice to me and I like him. I caught the cat in mid-ear-scratch. The ladies who sell the eggs at the farmers’ market remembered me from last time. They determined that I’d overpaid for last week’s eggs, which were the smaller variety (”I told her, ‘We forgot to tell the lady who bought the little eggs that those are cheaper eggs!’”). I told them that the little eggs [...] I love the farmer’s market! Today brought me much bounty: And all of it does, I think, qualify as “cheap.” At least, it definitely evades “prohibitively expensive” status. I hope [...] I accidentally captured Mr. Jones in the background of today’s picture. So I took the liberty of Photoshopping him out of it and put Wembley Stadium in his place. I went to four stores today — Giant, Harris Teeter, Victoria’s Secret, and Shoppers (one of these things is not like the others …) — and I was [...] Will the cat ever have enough treats? The answer does not lie within, but a savings of more than 50% does! “Whoa, are you sure?” I said. “That’s what it says,” said the checkout lady. “That doesn’t seem like enough money,” I said. “I know, it’s not much,” she said. “But it’s what it says.” And so I became the proud owner of two boxes of hair dye for $2.85, at a savings of approximately 86 percent. When I checked the [...] I didn’t take a picture of these things, because, well, they’re socks and a dress, and they just look like socks and a dress. The socks are white and the dress is long, plain black knit. They’re not exciting, but they’re things I needed, and I got them for so, so cheap. Penney’s had the [...] |
