I must say that gift cards are pretty delightful. I went out to run some errands yesterday armed with a coupon for a free McDonald’s smoothie, a coupon for a Free Unmentionable from Victoria’s Secret, and about $8.50 in Rite Aid gift cards. This is what I came home with (minus the smoothie, which I drank [...] Phase One of my most recent “get paid to buy Olay products” plan is complete! Today I got these in the mail: One is for $25, and the other is for $5. I believe I still have one more $5 gift card coming, plus a check for $20 from Olay. Rite Aid was kind enough to [...] Mr. Jones got home from softball today and took some ibuprofen for his knee; as he did, he mentioned that it was the first time in a long time that he’d had to take painkillers. I realized that I too have been painkillerless for weeks. It’s almost like eating more healthfully might be … good [...] I went to Rite Aid on Sunday and bought three Olay Regenerist skin-care products. I love Olay Regenerist skin-care products. They make me feel as though it’s less obvious that I spent the better part of a decade chain-smoking Camel Lights under bright Texas sunshine. Anyway, usually we use credit-card rewards to get these, but [...] It’s true. This Wii was free. So was the game you see there. In fact, we only paid $71 out of pocket for all this stuff. Three stores, three chances for world domination! I’d say said domination was achieved in two of the three instances, which, as Meat Loaf once said, ain’t bad. I made one more Triple Coupon trip with the coupons that came in today’s paper. I hit up CVS for some deals that started today, and I had to run to Target for a prescription, so I picked up a couple of other things that were cheaper there than anywhere else. Tah-dah: After the jump, the [...] As mentioned, the past few weeks haven’t been the most frugal we’ve ever had at Casa Jones. Which is a good thing, because part of the reason you save money when you can is so you can spend it when you need to, and I count post-op recovery barbecue potato chips firmly in the “need” [...] OK. So my plan to stock up on soft foods before my surgery went well, in the sense that I stocked up on soft foods before my surgery, but then again it went not so well, in the sense that after surgery I was high on painkillers for days and kept demanding — sweetly! always [...] |
