Believe it or not, I sometimes surface from my coupon organizer long enough to make friends, or at least people who find me odd but somehow endearing, like the axolotl. Two of them recently found themselves with burning questions about couponing, and luckily I was there to put out the fire. Or something.
I discovered Cheesecake Cupcakes last Thanksgiving, after I got done making an actual cheesecake. Then, I had some cream cheese left over and no immediate plans for it, so I Googled until I found a recipe that sounded good. This time, I managed to get cream cheese for 50 cents a package and jumped with [...]
On my shopping run today, I went to Target first. I am a creature of habit with breakfast as well as lunch; I eat breakfast at work, because I can, and also because I’m never hungry first thing in the morning, but by the time I get to work I am. I have experimented with [...]
This is what $99.59 looks like after I get done spending it.
(I think the cat is looking baleful because I didn’t spend it on her.)

It’s Wednesday! That means the grocery store flyers come in the newspaper today. Hurrah! Here they are, arranged for their big moment with my pile o’ coupons and some notebook paper:
Turns out Giant, which is teasing me above with its big “More savings” claim, is a lying liar this week. It is Harris Teeter that’s [...]
There is definitely some strategy involved in couponing. You have to know approximately what your household buys and approximately how often you buy it. You have to know what’s a “stocking up” price as opposed to what’s a “good deal” price. For me, there are generally three categories of groceries:
(I tried to work the word “bother” into the title of this one, but I couldn’t come up with a clever way to make it fit.)
Here, I’m going to show you a few examples of what you can get and for how much. In the future, I hope to have many triumphant, better-lit photos of [...]
