Back in the Game: 1/6/10

What I learned today: If you save enough at Harris Teeter (I think more than $100), they have to get a manager to come over and approve it. Super Doubles, I missed you. I missed you, I missed you, I missed you!

Here’s how I did.

Some of this was for our trip (we’re visiting my in-laws in West Virginia), and some of it was stocking up on Pepsi/DP/Mountain Dew Throwback (the kind with Real! Sugar!) for Mr. Jones. But I am still very pleased with the results.

  • Six 12-packs of various Pepsi With Sugar products, regular $5.99 each, sale three for $10, minus $1 off for buying four or more = $19, or $3.17 each
  • Glad freezer bags, three boxes, regular $3.29 each, sale buy one get one free, minus doubled coupon for $1.50 off three = $1.94, or 65 cents each
  • Baked Lay’s, two bags, regular $3.79 each, sale $3.50 each, minus two doubled coupons for $1 off each = $3, or $1.50 each
  • Smart Balance peanut butter, regular $3.19, sale $2.99, minus coupon for 70 cents off = $2.29
  • Special K bars, four boxes, regular $3.15 each, sale $1.99 each, minus two doubled coupons for $1 off two = $4; Harris Teeter was running a special where if you buy four Special K products, you get $5 off your total order, and thus I made $1 for buying these!
  • Solo plates (for the trip), regular $2.89, minus doubled coupon for $1 off = 89 cents
  • Wheat Thins crackers, regular $3.79 each, sale $3 each, minus doubled coupon for $1 off two = $4, or $2 each
  • Friskies, three cans, regular 55 cents each, sale 50 cents each = $1.50
  • Dickinson’s Lemon Curd, regular $4.59, sale $2.29, minus doubled coupon for $1 off = 29 cents
  • Electrasol dishwasher tabs, two boxes, regular $5.99 each, sale $3 each, minus two coupons for $2.50 off = $1, or 50 cents each
  • Harris Teeter plastic cutlery, $1.49
  • Harris Teeter garbage bags, $2.49
  • Softsoap hand soap, two bottles, regular $1.99, sale $1.59 (and one other bottle that was $2.99 for some reason, no idea why), minus doubled coupon for $1 off three = $4.17, or $1.39 each
  • Marzetti hummus, three containers, regular $3.29 each, minus three doubled coupons for $1 off each = $3.87, or $1.29 each
  • Wholly Guacamole, regular $1.99, minus doubled coupon for $1 off = free
  • Rome apples, $2.84
  • Two green peppers, $1.89
  • Bag of baby carrots, $1.89
  • Ice, $2.19
  • Kahiki frozen tempura chicken, regular $3.95, sale $2.50, minus doubled coupon for $1 off = 50 cents
  • Kahiki frozen egg rolls, regular $3.95, sale $2.50, minus doubled coupon for $1 off = 50 cents
  • Ore Ida crispy fries, two boxes, regular $1.45 each, minus doubled coupon for $1.50 off any two = free
  • Kraft shredded cheese, five bags, regular $3.29 each, sale buy one get one free = $8.23, or $1.65 each; buying five got me a $5-off-your-next-purchase coupon, yay!
  • Hillshire Farm thin-sliced turkey, two pouches, regular $4.39 each, sale $3.33 each, minus doubled coupon for $1 off two = $4.66, or $2.33 each
  • Steak-umms, $4.69 (I thought these were half off, but they’re not; Mr. Jones loves them, though, so hey)
  • Bayer aspirin, two bottles, regular $6.35 each, sale $2.44 each, minus two doubled coupons for $1 off each = 88 cents, or 44 cents each

Total paid: $76.34. Total saved: $109.56, or 59 percent. WHEE! And Super Doubles is going through this weekend, and there will be new coupons this weekend … everything is coming up coupons!
