Would you believe these things were basically free.
Well, THEY WERE.
I got some lemon curd for 29 cents during Super Doubles at Harris Teeter awhile back, and it was absolutely delicious, but we are not big toast people and it was languishing in the refrigerator without love. Similarly, I got some white chocolate chips for 50 cents during Triple Coupons at Shoppers, and they were just hanging in the cupboard, waiting for the right recipe to come along.
When I came across this, I knew it was the right recipe. I love scones, and I love almost-free scones even better. Plus, it has been snowy here in Washington, D.C. (the reason I have not posted lately, in fact — we’ve been snowed in, and grocery shopping has been nearly impossible). Scones are a great snowy-day treat.
This recipe makes 8, and I’d figure the total cost was less than $2 — 50 cents for the white chocolate, 29 cents for the lemon curd, and perhaps $1 for the other ingredients. And if I do say so myself, they were so delicious.

Saw this and ran to the grocery store right away. I’m hungry!
