Three stores, three chances for world domination! I’d say said domination was achieved in two of the three instances, which, as Meat Loaf once said, ain’t bad. I made one more Triple Coupon trip with the coupons that came in today’s paper. I hit up CVS for some deals that started today, and I had to run to Target for a prescription, so I picked up a couple of other things that were cheaper there than anywhere else. Tah-dah: After the jump, the [...] As mentioned, the past few weeks haven’t been the most frugal we’ve ever had at Casa Jones. Which is a good thing, because part of the reason you save money when you can is so you can spend it when you need to, and I count post-op recovery barbecue potato chips firmly in the “need” [...] OK. So my plan to stock up on soft foods before my surgery went well, in the sense that I stocked up on soft foods before my surgery, but then again it went not so well, in the sense that after surgery I was high on painkillers for days and kept demanding — sweetly! always [...] I’m putting this one up a little late, but I’m pretty proud of it. CVS has some great deals, but they only come around once in a blue moon. This was a blue moon! Trip One: Six cases of Pepsi products for $20. Using a coupon for $4 off a $20 purchase made it six cases [...] I think we have enough candy now. Let me just say that I ventured briefly into Old Navy today, lured by their Black Friday offer of $15 jeans, and nothing is worth that. Nothing. I mean, people were being polite and everything, nobody was having fistfights, but I have never seen a clothing store so crowded. It was nuts. Anyway. I went to [...] We are not very brand-loyal in our house, as is probably evident. But there are a few things we don’t budge on. It’s Heinz ketchup or nothing. We get the special wheat cat litter no matter what. And Mr. Jones, much though I love him, is a total soda junkie. From a selfish perspective this is [...] Usually when I go to CVS, it’s a big damn production. I have to strategize, and plan, and make lists, and check them twice, and figure out which order to get the Extra Bucks Rewards in, so I can spend the least out of pocket for the most stuff. Generally I find this fun, or [...] So on Thursday night, I got sick. This was less than pleasant, especially when it became clear late that night that I was sick enough to have to go to the doctor. However, I had some CVS coupons tucked away — get a $25 gift card with every new prescription — and when the doctor [...] |
