Yesterday’s trip was a good one, but I forgot to get Greek yogurt. Since it was on sale at Giant, I headed there: Giant actually also included three “tripler” coupons in its Sunday insert today (pair them with any manufacturer’s coupon worth 99 cents or less, and it will triple). I was going to get some [...] Look at all this Good Health! This is some good stuff, here. This is some What to Eat stuff. Which, for the frugal record, I have out of the library right this minute. I’m so proud of us. I accidentally captured Mr. Jones in the background of today’s picture. So I took the liberty of Photoshopping him out of it and put Wembley Stadium in his place. I went to four stores today — Giant, Harris Teeter, Victoria’s Secret, and Shoppers (one of these things is not like the others …) — and I was [...] Three stores, three chances for world domination! I’d say said domination was achieved in two of the three instances, which, as Meat Loaf once said, ain’t bad. OK. So my plan to stock up on soft foods before my surgery went well, in the sense that I stocked up on soft foods before my surgery, but then again it went not so well, in the sense that after surgery I was high on painkillers for days and kept demanding — sweetly! always [...] Giant offered four “Super Doubler” coupons this week, where they double coupons with a value of $1. It’s not as great as Super Doubles at Harris Teeter, but it’s something. I’m having surgery on my sinuses on Tuesday, and I wanted to stock up on soft foods I would be able to eat no matter what. [...] Things have been strange around our house since Mr. Jones got a job. Combine his working status with an unexpected tax refund, and it’s almost surreal not having to squeeze every dollar until it screams. These are the results of the first shopping trip in a long time in which I bought a fair number of [...] Mr. Jones came shopping with me today. I love the man dearly, but he is an Impulse Shopper. He does not strategize and plan and carefully cull the proper coupons to go with the proper sales. He sees stuff he wants and thinks about buying it. However, I am someone who will say things like [...] I can’t post pictures of this trip. I can’t even tell you what I bought on this trip. You see, it was split about evenly between stuff I got to donate to the Thanksgiving food drive, and stuff I got as components of forthcoming Christmas presents. And sometimes my mom reads this, and I don’t [...] Man, if you want sweet peace at the grocery store, go shopping on Friday evening the day before a holiday. The aisles are deserted. It’s crazy. We’re having friends over tomorrow and a lot of my coupons expire before Sunday, so I decided to go shopping tonight. Here’s my haul:
